In 2007 Edel Amsterdam started as a restaurant and bar on the Postjesweg in Amsterdam West. Now, it has grown into a bustling enterprise. Hardly surprising, with the innovative and creative ideas of Edel Amsterdam’s three founders it was bound to become more than just another restaurant in Amsterdam West.

Within two years a new concept was developed and the monthly Friday afternoon and evening event EdelWise was born. Nearly five years later, at least 1.200 people enjoy a diverse and surprising array of food, drinks and entertainment every last Friday of the month. But there’s more than EdelWise. Organizing festivals, food events and co-productions with other event agencies have become integral parts of Edel Amsterdam.

Due to the expansion of Edel Amsterdam and the changes in the organization in the last few years, three divisions were created within the company at the end of 2015; Edel Events, Lokaal Edel and Edel Spijs. Each division is represented and conveyed by the expertise of Edel Amsterdam’s team.

Edel Amsterdam’s home is the monumental building Het Sieraad. Besides the restaurant area of Lokaal Edel, Edel Amsterdam has also acquired Het Atrium, De Smederij, Het Timmerlokaal and De Plaatkwekerij. These spaces are perfect for the many workshops, conferences, parties, drinks, meetings and other cultural and social events held at Edel Amsterdam.
